Huey T. Parr, 90, passed away Thursday, October 1, 2015, at the Courtyards Nursing Facility. He was born March 23, 1925, to Dewey Festus and Eveline Long Parr. He was a Baptist in belief. He worked as a mechanic for the Dodge dealership in Amory, Harry Stone’s service station, and Oneal Sartin’s service station. He also worked in the logging industry. He enjoyed old cars and whittling with his knife.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 3, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with the Rev. Smith Lilley officiating. Burial will be in the Center Cemetery near Brilliant, Ala.
Survivors include his sister, Earden Sartin of Tremont; two brothers, Dewey Parr of Hamilton, Ala., and Louis Parr of Haleyville, Ala.; his caregivers, Pat and Tammy Parr of Tremont; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Arvenia Parr; one sister, Lorene Sartin; and his parents.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, October 2, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Fulton.
