The funeral service for Rev. Hubert D. Craft, Sr., age 93 of Pell City, will be held on Sunday, November 4, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville with Rev. Keith Pressley and Rev. Ray Morris officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Mt. Olive Baptist Church (North) Cemetery.
Rev. Craft passed away on Friday, November 2, 2018 at the Colonel Robert L. Howard State Veteran’s Home in Pell City where he was a resident. He was a Clay County native, a former resident of Anniston and had proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Rev. Craft was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church and had served as the pastor of Mamre Baptist Church and Christiana Baptist Church.
Rev. Craft is survived by two daughters: Rebecca Boling (Lester) of Oxford and Melissa Tarrant (Terry) of Rockledge, FL; one son, Hubert Derwood Craft Jr. of Plant City, FL; eight grandchildren: Melissa Combs (Jamie) of Huntsville, Melinda McKay (D.W.) of Lincoln, Mathew Boling of Oxford, Adam Tarrant (Crystal) of Daphne, AL, Jeremy Tarrant of Rockledge, FL, Michael Craft (Stacey), Allison Cintron (Jorge) and Steven Craft, all of Plant City, FL; 12 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wiley Hayes Craft and Alice Graben Craft; his wife, Marie Forbus Craft and all his brothers and sisters.
Pallbearers will be: Bobby Baker, Daniel Morris, Alban Morris, Michael Mitchell, Perry Shirley, and Kyle Pressley.
The family will receive friends at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville on Sunday, November 4, 2018 from 12:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m.
