Howard Wayne Simmons, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at the age
of 77. Born on March 21, 1949 he was the beloved child of Charlie and Alta Simmons in
Tullahoma, Tennessee. Wayne was a beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather,
uncle, and friend. On March 24, 1973 he married Kathy Dixon Simmons and together
they shared 53 wonderful years. After graduating from Tennessee Tech he went onto a career as an Industrial Engineer at Monsanto.
He is survived by his wife Kathy, his brother Glen, his son Scott (Tammie
and Family); 2 daughters Susan Adkins (Josh) and Emily Knight; his grandson Jason.
He loved his Lord Savior, his family, friends and the Tennessee Vols.
Celebration of Life Service for Howard “Wayne” Simmons, 77, will be held Friday, July 10 th at
Redeemer Presbyterian Church, located at 240 Grant Street in Decatur. Visitation will
be held 1:00PM-2:00PM with funeral service following at 2:00PM with Pastor Nathan Eldridge
officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Redeemer Presbyterian Church.
