Howard Levon Marks – Obituary

Howard Levon Marks, 81, of Florence, died April 27, 2014, at Florence Nursing and Rehab following an extended illness. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Greenview Funeral Home followed by the service at 2:30 p.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel with Brother Robert Marks officiating. Burial will be in Jessie’s Garden Cemetery.

Mr. Marks was born in Lauderdale County to the late Rufus Robert Marks and Emma Viola Jones Marks. He was a member of Bethel Berry Church of Christ and a member of the aluminum worker’s union. During the Korean War, he served in the military police in the U.S. Army.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Cecil and Ray, his sister, Reba, and four infant siblings.

Surviving are his wife, Faye Dean Marks; sons, Randell Bruce Marks (Judi) and Steven Wayne Marks (Tracy); daughter, Courtney Segraves Whited; sister, Walsi Robb; grandchildren, Jason Randell Marks, Brianna Sullins, Chloe and Savannah Whited, Dianna Green, Jacob Jones, and Brent Bullion; great-grandchildren, Madalyn, Ella, and Olivia Green, Hannah Bullion, Kiyler Bullion, and Alex Willis.

Pallbearers will be Tim Rhodes, Jimmy Marks, Neal Rhodes, Gregg Johnson, Bud Norwood, and Delbert Rhodes.
