Howard Eugene Taylor passed away peacefully on April 28, 2026. He was predeceased by his mother, Zoda Howard Taylor, his father, Benjamin Eugene Taylor, and his brother, Ronald Keith Taylor.
Born in Sumter, SC, on April 1, 1941, Howard always excelled in art and after graduating from Anniston High School in Anniston, AL, he went to Ringling School of Art and Design on a scholarship and received a degree in Graphic Arts. After working for Raytheon in Cambridge, MA for several years, he acquired a job in Huntsville with SCI, where he worked almost 35 years and retired in 2005 as a manager of a graphic arts division. In his retirement he devoted his time to his life-long interest in cultivating Bonsai and traveling the world with his wife.
He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Deborah Swanson Taylor, his fur babies, Felix the cat, and Gandalf, an Airedale terrier of incomparable magical feats.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Huntsville Museum of Art, or Hudson Alpha Foundation, Memory and Mobility Fund, 601 Genome Way, Huntsville, AL 35806.
