, 73, of Huntsville, passed away Sunday. Mr. Hester was a graduate of Murray State College with three majors, and received his Master’s degree in Engineering from the University of Kentucky. He was employed by NASA from 1964 – 1998 after which he retired. Mr. Hester worked on testing the Saturn V rocket, did work on the Space Station, and had projects on the Space Shuttle missions. He was preceded in death by parents, Robert and Elizabeth Hester, and brother, John Hester.
Survivors include brother, Allan Hester (Catherine); nieces, Jennifer Mattox (Travis), and Sharon and Sarah Hester; and great nephews, Clark and Asher Mattox, all of Paris, KY.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held in Kentucky at a later date.
