Howard Arnold Hilliard, 82 of Huntsville, AL, passed away on March, 15th 2024.

A native of Huntsville, Howard graduated from Butler High School in 1959 and the University of North Alabama in 1963 with additional studies at UAH. He was discharged as a Staff Sergeant after serving in the United States Army Reserve with the 543rd Signal Company in Huntsville from 1966-1972. He was a member of Whitesburg Baptist Church and Helion Masonic Lodge No. 1.

Howard worked in accounting with Huntsville Utilities from 1964-1974 and from 1974-1985 was a part of the original senior management team at the Von Braun Center, serving in the areas of Box Office Manger, Booking, Promotions and Event Coordination as well as serving as Assistant Director and  Interim Director. From 1986-2006 he was self-employed at Print Shack Printing and Copy Center and retired at the end of 2006 when he sold the business.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Edith Hilliard, sister Mary Frances Sliz and son Alan Gilbert Hilliard.  Survivors include his wife Keren Gibb Hilliard, son Derek Hilliard (Aaryn), step daughters Wendy Graham (Jay) and Michelle Thomas (Chris), grandsons Corey Graham (Patience), Tyler Graham (Shannon) and Frank McCoy, nieces,nephews, cousins and a host of great friends.

Memorials may be made to NAMI Huntsville or to the North Alabama Food Bank.

Visitation will be at Spry Funeral Home on Thursday, March 21, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM with a Graveside service following at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
