Houston J.R. O’Kelley, 78, Phil Campbell, passed away on Friday, July 6, 2012 at his residence.
He was a retired logger.
The visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Saturday, July 07, 2012 at Spry Memorial Chapel. The body will lie in state from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 08, 2012 at Blue Springs Church with the funeral service immediately following. Officiating at the service will be Bro. David Motes. Burial will be at Blue Springs Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife 54 years, Hazel O’Kelley; children, Patsy Slatton, Jimmy O’Kelley, Hershel O’Kelley, Joyce O’Kelley; grandchildren, Ronnie O’Kelley, Stacy Farris, Jessica O’Kelley, Zack Slatton, Crystil Cothrum, Derek Slatton, Carrie Williams, Shane Baker, Brandy Baker, Heather Trapp; great-grandchildren, Dylan West, Dawson O’Kelley, Caitlynn Mills, Skylar Mitchell, Haley Baker, Caden Slatton, Ethan Trapp, Katherine Trapp, Leon Motes; sister, Evelyn Weeks; and several nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, George O’Kelley; mother, Alvie O’Kelley; 3 brothers, Cleo O’Kelley, Leon O’Kelley, Frankie O’Kelley; and great-granddaughter, Celia Trapp.
The pallbearers will be Joe Cothrum, Terrence Farris, Dylan West, Derek Slatton, Shane Baker, and Dawson O’Kelley.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Candace Cooper and the staff of North Alabama Hospice for the love and care shown towards our family.
