Horace Smith Caudle was born May 16, 1947, in Huntsville, AL to Mr. Lamar Penny Caudle and Mrs. Emma Jean Smith Caudle. He departed this life on November 18, 2024. He was preceded in death by his father Lamar Penny Caudle, two daughters Linnet Caudle Sears, Ta’Marian Caudle, two sisters Olivia Caudle, Ella Mae Caudle, sister-in-law Denise Caldwell, two brothers Robert Caudle, Edward Caudle, four brothers-in-law Robert Caldwell Jr., Rogers Caldwell, Dwight Caldwell, Michael Caldwell, a granddaughter Natasha Clay and two grandsons Justin Bell and Tobias Nance Jr.
Horace as a young child attended St. Andrews P.B. Church with his parents. His early years he attended West Madison High School. After high school Horace held many jobs. He worked diligently at Huntsville Hospital for 47 years as a supervisor. Horace enjoyed spending time with his family, and friends watching Alabama football. Horace was a strong, loving, devoted and faithful man.
Horace leaves to cherish his memory wife Phyllis Caudle, his mother Emma Jean Caudle, his children: Darren Caudle, Horace Caudle Jr., Tony (Monica) Caudle, and Marcus (Tonia) Caudle all of Huntsville, AL; a soon to be son in law Mark Suggs; his sisters: Bonnie (James) Langford; Marion Love (Leon), Janice Caudle, Elaine (Calvin) Tisdale, Margaret Caudle; Marilyn Campbell; Freda Caudle; Vivian Treece; two sister in law: Annie H. Caudle, Diane Caudle; his brothers: Freddie Caudle, Jessie (Willie K) Caudle, Jackie (Darlene) Caudle, and Anthony Caudle; Gregory Caudle; Bernard Caudle; brother in law: Gregory (Reta) Caldwell; 25 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral service will be 12:00 noon, Saturday, November 23, 2024 at the Saint Andrews Primitive Baptist Church (393 Swancott Road, Madison, AL 35758) with Elder Calvin Moore officiating. Interment will be in the Huntsville Memory Gardens. Mr. Caudle will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time.
Public viewing will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Friday, November 22, 2024 and 8:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 23, 2024 at the Royal Funeral Home.
