Horace Richard Batchelor, Jr, age 80, a native of Fort Deposit, Alabama and a resident of Decatur, Alabama for 59 years, passed away April 9, 2023.
He is survived by his wife June, (Edge) of Greenville, one daughter Cindy Norris, Decatur, one son Glenn, Decatur, one grandson, Logan, Cullman, one brother Royce, Panama City, Florida.
He was a graduate of Troy State College. He worked with the Alabama Department of Revenue for 41 years and was an active member of Southside Baptist Church for 53 years.
A Funeral service will be held Thursday, April 13, 2023 at 10:00AM at Shelton Funeral Home. A Graveside service will be held at Little Sandy Ridge Cemetery at 4:00PM in Fort Deposit, Alabama. Visitation will be from 9:00AM to 10:00AM on that day at Shelton Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to American Cancer Society or Hospice of the Valley in Decatur, Alabama.
