Horace Hargett Green, age 80, Russellville, passed away on Monday, Dec. 15, 2014. He was born Tuesday, Aug. 21, 1934, in Franklin County to Earl and Lorene Green.
He was a member of Alva Chapel Baptist Church in Mt. Star and attended New Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Belgreen.
The visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at Spry Memorial Chapel. The service will follow at 1 p.m. at Spry Memorial Chapel. Speaking at the service will be Brother Andy Cansler. Burial will follow at Franklin Memory Gardens.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Malone Green, son, Mike Green, granddaughter, Tina Green McNutt, father, Earl Green, mother, Lorene Green, and siblings, Ralph, Homer, Betty, J.C., Milton, Ted, and Billy.
He leaves to cherish his memory his children, David (Deborah) Green, Peggy (Billy) Britnell, and Patsy Green Cornelison; special daughter-in-law, Connie Green; ten grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one special blessing on the way; siblings, Terry Green, Mary Woodruff, and Jo Ann Williams; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The pallbearers will be Roger Enchiff, John Dary, Tommy Sanders, Carl Bolton, Daniel Smith, and Russell Woodruff. The honorary pallbearers will be Roney Murphy, Danny Black, Kenneth Craddock, and Harold Green.
Spry Memorial Chapel assisted the family.
