Hollis Dean James, 87, passed away Friday, Sept. 4, 2015.
Mr. James was a native of Cherokee, Alabama and lived in Tuscumbia his entire adult life. He proudly served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He was retired from Reynolds after a 39 year career. He was an avid and meticulous gardener and wonderful husband, dad, and grandad.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eldred James, his sisters, Julie James, Pearl James, Katherine James, Ruth James, and Elizabeth James, brothers, Robert James, Carrel James, Thomas James, and Billy James, and his parents, Lee Franklin James and Johnie Maud James.
He is survived by his son, Dwight James and wife, Angie, of Tuscumbia; grandson, Brodie James and wife, Taryn, of Mountain Brook; sister, Nell Frances Walker; and a large contingency of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Sunday, 2-3:30 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia, with the graveside service following at 4 p.m. in Barton Cemetery with Rodney Clingan officiating.
The family would like thank Dr. Richard Deal and staff and Dr. Jerry Williams for their compassion and care during this time.
