H.L. was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He fought during the Vietnam War. He was an accountant with TVA for twenty plus years. After retiring from TVA, he then went on to Marshall DeKalb Electric Co-Op for ten years, and also became an Adult Education GED instructor for several locations across Alabama.
He is survived by his sons, Jeff Stephenson (Jamie), Scott Stephenson (Rebecca); four grandchildren, Sydney, Evan, Blake and Iain; brother, Robert Stephenson (Judy); sisters Annette Lowery, Bennie Sue Reynolds (Joe); a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hodge Lawson Stephenson Sr. and Leona McMickin Stephenson; sister, Betty Gibson; brother’ A.D. Stephenson.
A graveside service will take place on Wednesday January 12, 2022 at 4pm at KP Cemetery in Russellville, Alabama. A celebration of life party for family and friends will immediately follow at Rancho Viejo in Russellville.
