TUSCUMBIA- On Saturday, October 26, at 4:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., the Tuscumbia Trolley will once again take tour participants on the annual “History and Haunts” Trolley Tour to some of the town’s most “haunted” sites, among them Tuscumbia’s historic Train Depot and the site of the Civil War battle that took place on the outskirts of town in 1863. The trolley tour is marking the 150th anniversary of the Engagement of Little Bear Creek, an event that engaged a large number of Confederate defenders of the town as well as a substantial number of Federal invaders. A living history encampment will be portrayed by SCV re-enactors.
Tours will depart from Cold Water Books, corner of Sixth and Main Streets in Tuscumbia and will be accompanied by a guide.
Tickets are $10.00 each, available in advance from Cold Water Books. Proceeds will benefit the Colbert County Historical Landmarks Foundation. The mission of the Foundation is to encourage preservation of historic sites and to educate the public about the history of the county.
