Hildred Marie Loftin Nixon, 76 of the Scant City area, died Friday June 23, 2017 at Marshall Medical Center North.
Mrs. Nixon was born May 22, 1941 in Carroll County Georgia to Samuel Arnold Loftin and Lessie Elois Boyd Loftin. She was a homemaker and had lived in the Scant City area for 3 years moving from Dadeville, Al. She enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, working in her flowers and gardening. She also loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.
She was a member of Sweet Home Baptist Church.
Mrs. Nixon is survived by her husband: Rodney E. Nixon; her son and daughter-in-law: Charles Edwin Nixon and Sheila; her daughter and son-in-law: Liz Wood and Carl; her grandchildren: Amber Kelly and Tyler, Sarah Wood, Christian Nixon, Kelsey Miller and Alan, Jessica Nixon and Caitlin Nixon; her great grandchildren: Alaina Kate Kelly, Haiden Kelly, Maggie Kelly, Isaiah Trae and Aiven Lee Miller; her brothers and sisters-in-law: C.J. Loftin and Diane, Willard Loftin and Mary Lois, Millard Loftin and Jan and Terry Loftin and Debra; and a sister Rachel Miller. She was preceded in death by her parents: Samuel and Lessie Loftin; her grandchildren: Douglas Wood, Courtney Renee Nixon and Charles Tyler Nixon; three brothers: Samuel Loftin, Boyd Loftin and Jimmy Loftin.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday June 27, 2017 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel with Brothers: Tim Lynch, Dewitt Crow and Terry Herron, officiating. Burial will be in Valhermoso Baptist Church Cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
Pallbearers will be Chris Loftin, Tyler Kelly, Christian Nixon, Troy Nixon, Mark Nixon, Jeff Nixon, Terrel Nixon and Carl Wood.
Visitation will be 6:00 pm. – 8:00 p.m. Monday June 26, 2017 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel.
