Hilda Hutchins Nichelson, 71, of Cherokee passed away Friday, April 6, 2018. Visitation will be Sunday, April 8th from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Cherokee. The funeral service will be Monday, April 9th at 12:00 noon at Barton First Baptist Church with Micah Booth, Chuck Lansdell, and Wade Wallace officiating. She will lie-in-state from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Harris Chapel Cemetery.
Hilda was a native of Corinth, MS and a retired nurse for Dr. Kermit Mitchell. She was a member of Barton First Baptist Church. She loved her church and served it faithfully. Hilda was loved by her family and friends and everyone that knew her.
Hilda was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Ronnie Nichelson and parents, Johnnie and Bernice Hutchins.
She is survived by her sons, Keith Nichelson (Susy) and Chad Nichelson (Stacey); daughters, Tina Lansdell (Chuck) and Courtney Wallace (Wade); sister, Julie Hutchins; grandchildren, Jordan Nichelson, Josh Nichelson, Charlie Lansdell, Jessica Nichelson Evans (Austin), Bailey Nichelson, Jacob Wallace, and Gabe Wallace; and great-granddaughter, Aubrie Lansdell.
Pallbearers will be Jordan Nichelson, Josh Nichelson, Charlie Lansdell, Jacob Wallace, Gabe Wallace, Austin Evans, Robert Timmons, Rodney Timmons, Douglas Hargett, Terry Burcham, and Nelson Wallace. Honorary pallbearers are the deacons of Barton First Baptist Church.
