Hershel Terry Reeves, age 74 of Empire, went home to be with the Lord at his residence surrounded by family Wednesday June 14, 2017. He loved NASCAR and Alabama football.
Funeral service will be Saturday June 17, 2017 at 11:30 am in the New Horizon Memorial chapel. Rev. Ronnie Johnson and Rev. Jerry Freeman will officiate. Burial will follow at New Canaan Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10:30 am Saturday.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Hoyt and Irene Reeves; brother, Daryl Reeves; and sister-in-law, Lucy Reeves.
He is survived by his wife of forty-nine years, Joyce H. Reeves; son, Robert “Bob” Reeves (Sandra) of Empire; daughter, Penny Reeves Shelor (Chris) of Sugar Hill, GA; grandchildren, Kory Laird of Sugar Hill, GA; Marissa Lynema (Brandon) of Fort Lewis, WA; Josh and Will Reeves of Empire; great granddaughters, Mattie and Harper Lynema of Fort Lewis, WA; brothers, Ralph Reeves of Empire; and Roger Reeves (Judy) of Empire; sister, Rebecca Baugn (William “Jitter”) of Empire, and a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
