Hershall Clyde Barron – Obituary

Hershall Clyde Barron, 70, passed away on February 8, 2019 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Born in Prentiss County on September 1, 1948 to Clyde and Mary Alice McCoun Barron, he grew up in the country before moving with his parents to Belmont. He attended New Site High School, graduating in 1966, where he excelled in the sport of basketball helping his teammates win the state title. Hershall later attended Northeast Community College where he played basketball.  He joined the Mississippi National Guard and was a Tank Commander earning the rank of Sergeant. On April 29, 1973, Hershall married Paulette Hallmark. They were married for over 40 years until her death in 2013. He worked for many companies such as Penn Tire, Denton Mills and Corinthian Inc. Hershall enjoyed manly activities such as fishing in Louisiana for red fish, hunting, traveling and attending Ole Miss basketball games. After living in Corinth for 11 years, he moved to Pickwick Pines near Pickwick Lake where he enjoyed many fishing experiences.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2019 at the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors.  All other services will be private to the family.  Holland Funeral Directors is pleased to be serving their friends.

Hershall leaves to mourn his passing, his son, Nick Barron (Candace) of Brewer.  special friend, Debby Joe Gurley (Corinth), sister in law, Linda Hester and brother in law, Terry Hallmark (Ann) all of Carolina Community and a host of nieces and nephews and many close friends.
