Herman Wayne Broadway age 78 of Athens, passed away Thursday, September 17, 2015 at his residence. Mr. Broadway was born April 3, 1937 in Giles County, TN to Herman Broadway and Muriel Gertrude Lewter Broadway.
Services will be Sunday, September 20, 2015 3:00 p.m., at Isom’s Chapel Methodist Church with Bro. Eddie Gooch officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. Broadway was a member of Madison Street Baptist Church. He was retired from Con Agra in Decatur, AL. He was an avid Alabama and Atlanta Braves Fan.
Preceded in death by his parents, Buddy and Shorty Broadway; one brother, Harold Dean Broadway; two sisters, Betty Jo and Ann Broadway.
Survived by his wife, Jane Broadway of Athens; two sons, Michael Wayne Broadway and wife, Angela and Phillip Lane Broadway and wife, Elaina both of Athens; one daughter, Connie Jo Green and husband, Jerry of Harvest, AL; grandchildren, Sydni Johnson and husband, Chris of Athens, Mike Broadway, Jr. of Elkton, TN, Austin Green of Tuscaloosa, AL, Lily Grace Green, Lia Faith Green and Lucy Hope Green all of Harvest, AL; two great-grandchildren, Ava May Johnson and William Sage Johnson both of Athens; one sister, Florence McClendon of Athens; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Larry Patterson, David McClendon, Gary McClendon, Mark Broadway, Greg Broadway and James Reyer. Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons.
