SHEFFIELD-One of bluegrass’ hottest groups, Volume Five, will be headlining the 2019 Jake Landers Bluegrass Concert, 7 p.m., February 9 at the Ritz Theatre, Sheffield Ala.
The group will be joined by Iron Horse, who are regular performers at the annual concert to help carry on the legacy of Jake Landers.
Also, at 6 p.m., February 9 at the Ritz Theatre, Scooter Muse will conduct a free pre-show banjo demonstration which will include discussions about technique and history.
Volume Five is coming off a wave of critical praise for their 2017 album “Drifter,” which won an International Bluegrass Music Association award for Song of the Year for the single “I Am a Drifter” and helped earn the band an IBMA award for Emerging Artist of the Year. In 2018 they released their seventh album in 10 years, “Milestones.”
