Herbert Lionel Gaines, age 86, of Huntsville, Alabama passed away on Monday, March 22, 2021, at his residence while in Hospice care. He was born on June 22nd, 1934 and was preceded in death by his Father, Doctor Frank C. Gaines, Mother, Lillie Bell Gaines, 3 Brothers–Kiefer Gaines, Cunningham Gaines, and Frank Nolen Gaines,; 1 sister–Virginia Gaines, and 2 Daughters–Deborah Kay Gaines and Susan Anita Taylor (Gaines);. Survivors include his wife, May Ann Gaines; son, Victor Herbert Gaines; daughter, Sheila Kay Nation (Gaines), 8 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Gaines was a Veteran of the Armed Forces and served the United States Navy during the Korean War, the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War, and retired from the National Guard as an E-8 Master Sergeant. He was an avid reader of Western Books and Movies.
