Herbert Hoover Rutledge, age 95, of Albertville, Alabama, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2025, at Shepherds Cove Hospice in Albertville.
He is survived by his devoted daughter, Aletha (William) Pickett of Albertville, AL; sisters, Lil Smith of Gainesville, GA, and Betty Sue Eakes of Birmingham, AL; special friend, Danny Thrash of Albertville, AL; and his very loved companion pets, Brandy, a boxer dog, and Mama Kitty.
Herbert was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 54 years, Louise Rutledge; father, Clarence Rutledge; mother, Ella Jane Rutledge; and brother, J.C. Rutledge.
A proud Army Veteran, Herbert served during the Korean War from 1950 to 1952. He was a dedicated car hauler trucker for over 45 years and deeply missed his time on the road even after retirement. Herbert’s love for his family and friends and his generous spirit will be forever cherished by all who knew him.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Adams Brown Service Funeral Home with Donald Baugh and Bro. Wayne White officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers assisting Mr. Rutledge to his final resting place at Memory Hill Cemetery will include Heath Pickett, Randell Thrasher, Ronnie Grimes, Bruce Pearce, Leonard Pearce, and Danny Thrash.
