Funeral service for Herbert Delano Teague, age 79, of Decatur, will be Sunday, May 11, 2014, 4:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Decatur in the Stephenson Chapel with Rev. Roger Jenkins and Rev. Royce Teague officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 11, 2014, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the church. Interment will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. Teague, who died Thursday, May 8, 2014, at Huntsville Hospital, was born November 24, 1934 in Morgan County, to Walter Tennis Teague and Mattie Cooper Teague. Herb lived his life with a commitment to integrity, a fierce family loyalty and a firm faith in God’s plan for redemption. He was president of Application Software, Inc. He was preceded in death by three brothers, James Tennis Teague, Cleo D. Teague and Kenneth Wiley Teague and one sister, Lucie Fay Hughes.
Herb is survived by his loving wife, Delores Teague and his son, Marcus Delano Teague “Becky” all of Decatur; two daughters, Terri Teague Perkins “Jaime” and Beth Ann Teague all of Marietta, Georgia; his brother, Charles Teague “Evelyne” of Decatur; Lounette Husk of Omaha, Nebraska; three grandchildren, Tyler Tennis Teague, Garret Byars Teague, Lila Teague Perkins.
Pallbearers will be Tyler Teague, Greg Teague, Brent Gillespie, Kevin Teague, Byron Teague and David Teague. Honorary pallbearers will be the Jessie Rogers/Bud Bryan Sunday School Class.
