Herbert C. Strandemo, 88, of Decatur, passed away Tuesday. Mr. Strandemo attended St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN, and graduated from the University of Florida with a BS in Aeronautical Engineering in 1956. On April 10, 1951, he was commissioned in the U.S. Navy as a Naval Aviator. Mr. Strandemo had been a member of Grace Lutheran Church since 1963.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Jean Nolen Strandemo; daughter, Kristen Propst and husband, Joseph, of Decatur; granddaughter, Mary Grace Marshall and husband, Dustin, of Tulsa, OK; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 30, 2016 at Grace Lutheran Church. The funeral service will follow at the church with Pastor Pat Carlson officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
