Abba brought home his son, Henry Louis Dithmer III aged 85, on 12 May 2023. Waiting to welcome Henry into Heaven are his father Henry, his mother Elizabeth, his mother-in-law Valeria, his father-in-law Jose, his Grandparents Henry and Gertrude, and his sisters Betsy and Marge. Blessed are those that receive him.

Henry was born to Henry and Elizabeth Dithmer in Indianapolis, Indiana, on 19 July 1937. He attended the Park Tudor School and Short Ridge High School, working for the Polar Ice and Fuel Company, which his family owned. Henry then attended Indiana University, before joining the United States Navy to serve during the Vietnam War. Upon his return to Indianapolis he joined the Metropolitan Insurance Company before beginning his career at Chrysler Corporation. Henry met Carmelita Lomibao Licuanan in 1975 and then married her in 1976. They have been bridegroom and bride for 47 years. They are the loving and successful parents of Rose Marie Montgomery, Tina and Chris Noyes, David and Bessie Dithmer, and Mark and Aaron Dithmer. They are the loving and proud grandparents of Owen Noyes, Calie Dithmer, and Aubrey, Lily, Jackson, Rylie, and Henry Dithmer. Henry is also survived by his brother, John.

Henry’s work at Chrysler spanned 35 years, taking him to Huntsville, AL in 1988, where he lived until God called him into the eternal kingdom. He was the senior employee at Chrysler in Huntsville at his retirement. Among his many virtues, Henry was an upstanding citizen, cheerful acquaintance, steadfast friend, engaging Grandfather, loving father, faithful husband, and grateful recipient of God’s salvation in Jesus Christ. He loved motorcycles, cars, Alabama football and softball, good music, meeting new people, helping those in need, lifting the spirits of others, and most of all his family, his bride, the Holy Spirit, Jesus his personal lord and Savior, and God the Father Almighty. For those fortunate to know this man of deliberate character and gentle tireless service, Henry’s outstanding life is a testament to God’s creation of human majesty, abundant generosity, unique perfection, selfless sacrifice, divine mercy, and undying love.

Visitation will be held Monday 15 May 2023 from 9:00 until 10:00 a.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. The funeral mass will celebrated at 10:00 a.m. A memorial reception will follow at the adjacent Holy Spirit Parish Life Center.

Henry would appreciate donations to Holy Spirit Catholic Church and/or Saint Vincent DePaul in lieu of flowers. Thank you and may God bless you and yours as God blesses Henry and his.
