Henrica Petronella “Rieky” Wright, age 87, of Decatur, died Thursday, December 23, 2021, at her residence. Shelton Funeral Home is assisting her family with arrangements.
Mrs. Wright was born September 7, 1934, in Volkel, The Netherlands, to Hendrikus Verbakel and Maria Anna Van der Burgt Verbakel. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hollie Shelton Wright, her parents, and five siblings, Anton, Frans, Agnes, Gonny, and Nelly.
She is survived by two sons, Charles Wright (Barbara) of Decatur and Jerry Wright (Suzy) of Flintville, TN; one daughter, Anita Wright Collins (Wes) of Chapel Hill, NC; one brother, Henk, of The Netherlands; three sisters, Gerry, Mieke, and Wilma, all of The Netherlands; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
