Helen Virginia Goodwin Long, 92, of Booneville passed away on Monday, January 22, 2024 at Magnolia Regional Health Center. She was a member of the Hills Chapel Church of Christ. She was an educator for 33 years with the Prentiss County School District with 31 of those teaching 1st grade at Marietta Elementary School. She loved gardening, flowers, especially her roses, and mowing and working in her yard. She was famous for her delicious peanut brittle and tea cakes, and she enjoyed taking people for a joy ride on her golf cart. She also loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and her great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be at 3:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at McMillan Funeral Home with Bro. Tony Brown and Bro. Mark Neeves officiating. Burial will be in the Little Brown Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. on Wednesday January 24, 2024 at the funeral home.

She is survived by her son, Jeff Long (Sharon); her daughter, Judy Gatti (Jack); her grandchildren, Cameron Gatti (Jenny), Zach Gatti (Kaitlyn), Brittany Frederick (Adam) and Kaitlyn Smith (Jake); her great-grandchildren, Jackson Gatti, Stella Frederick and Hue Frederick; a host of nieces and nephews and her special friend, Cindy Humphres.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Prentiss William and Lessie Ree Holley Goodwin and her husband, Travis Long.
