Helen V. DeReu, 96, passed away Thursday, February 6, 2025 in Lake Geneva, WI. She was born in Vina, AL to Carl Vaden and Clara Pounders Vaden. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Waukegan, IL and attended Mt. Olive Methodist Church when in town.
Services will be Saturday, February 15, 11 a.m. at Mt. Olive Methodist Church, Tremont, MS with Jonathan Herston officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, February 15, 10-11 a.m. at Mt. Olive Methodist Church. Burial will be in Mt. Olive Methodist Church Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by her son, Steve DeReu; daughter-in-law, Michelle DeReu; grandchildren, Heather Barber (Liam) and Anthony DeReu, all of Twin Lakes, WI and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George DeReu and a sister, Moline Clark.
Pallbearers will be Sam Herston, Brodie Cason, Alex Parker, Jeff Parker, Derek Cason and Allen Barnett. Honorary pallbearers will be Evan Barnett, Shaun Rogers and Konner Rogers.
