A loud silence has fallen from the lips of a Golden Spirit as she has ascended to watch over us. Helen Theroux Jones, born Helen Neal Theroux on Aug. 25, 1926, to Frank and Bettie Theroux in Panola, Ala. Her glowing presence withdrew on July 11, 2012. Her life meant so much more than an accounting of her earthly accomplishments, as there were many, yet she was modest, and would prefer us to remember her radiant, courageous heart, strengthened by the convictions of loyalty, grace and wisdom, guided by a Perfect Love.
Her eyes sparkled and danced, dressed in blue, they reflected the beauty and joy she found in the overlooked and ordinary. She has gifted her family and friends with intangible riches beyond measure. Sweet Helen is predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Joseph Sparks Jones; daughter, Laura Jones Barnett; grandson, Sean Sebastian Barnett; and sister, Martha Theroux Stanfield. Those of us who are waiting to rejoin in her company, little sister, Jessie Smith; daughter, Bettie Theroux (Scott Mills); granddaughter, Ilex Cook (Johnathon); great-granddaughter, Charlotte Cook; grandsons, Ivan Iwanowski, Jackson Tyler, Adrian Barnett and many other loving relatives.
The family would like to acknowledge the kindness of all her caregivers at Harbor Chase Assisted Living and most especially, Tameka, who gave of herself so tenderly. Any who wish to may offer a memorial to the benevolent society of Haven Hospice or the charity of their choice .
The family will receive friends 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, July 18, at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Florence. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Greenview Memorial Park Cemetery.
Spry-Williams Funeral Home, Florence, directing.

I am her adopted son, William Lee Jones. Why was I never notified that she passed?
