Obituary of Helen Sharon (Littleton) Carter Helen Sharon Littleton Carter, age 81, Gadsden, AL passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2024, after suffering the effects of dementia over the last few years.

 

Sharon graduated from Gadsden High School in 1960 and attended Birmingham Southern College. Sharon was a musician and known for her wonderful singing voice.

 

She was preceded in death by her mother, Janice (Pope) Littleton; and her father, C.C. Littleton.

She is survived by her husband, Richard Carter; brother and sister-in-law, Harry (Kay) Littleton; her son, Rob (Heidi) Stapp; daughter, Sherry Mattos; grandchildren, Candice (Ryan) Davis, Cameron (Logan) Stapp, Coleman (Jessica) Stapp; Carlee (Justin) Lovorn; great grandchildren, Sophie, Bindi, Kennedy, Shay, Luke and Jocelyn, several nieces and nephews; and stepchildren, Rhonda (Alan) Walker, Allen Carter and Chris (Keisha) Carter.

A special thanks to the staff at Gentiva Hospice – Gadsden and caregivers Sandi and Nikiva for the wonderful care they provided Sharon over the last few years.

Donations can be made to the Humane Society in her honor.

A visitation for Sharon will be held Sunday, February 18, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Collier-Butler Funeral Home, 824 Rainbow Drive, Gadsden, AL 35901, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM. Carole Wasser will officiate. Burial will be at Forrest Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
