Helen Ruth Coker McCarver, 91, passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at NMMC-Tupelo, MS. Helen was born on July 17, 1933, to Virgil and Ruth Rorie Coker. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church, Ecru, MS. She enjoyed working in her yard, cooking, genealogy, and reading her bible.
Survivors include her daughter, Vicki McCarver Bishop (Tony), her grandchildren, Brittany McCarver Scruggs (Matt) and Mack Carver Bishop, and her great grandchild, Saylem Carver Scruggs.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Mack McCarver, her son, Mike “Coach” McCarver, and her sister, Reba Graham.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2025, from 12:30-2:30PM at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc with the service immediately following visitation. Burial will follow in Ecru Cemetery. Tutor Memorial Funeral Home of Pontotoc is in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Matt Scruggs, Mack Bishop, Bobby Kelly, Kevin Ray, and Derrick Yancy.
