Helen P. Brooks Behel, 86 of Sheffield, passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2023. Visitation will be at Morrison Funeral Home in Tuscumbia on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. with the funeral service following in the funeral home chapel. David Conley will officiate the service. Burial will follow in New Bethel Cemetery.
Helen was a member of the Westside Church of Christ and loved gardening and helping people. She was a graduate of Deshler High School, worked many years as a beautician, and worked at the Court House Racquet Club. She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer R. and Ludie Tubbs Brooks; son, Paul Behel; father of her children, O’Neal Behel; brothers, Edward Brooks, Donald Brooks and Junior Brooks.
Helen is survived by her two sons, Bobby O. Behel (Linda) and Wendel R. Behel (Lisa); brothers, Russell Brooks (Pat) and Milton Brooks; grandchildren, Barrett Behel, Brian Behel, Jane Behel, Joe Roberson, Tiffany Miller, and Trenton Wright; nine great-grandchildren.
Family members will serve as pallbearers.
