Helen Marie Hargrove Cavender, 94, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 24, 2019.
She had lived in Madison County for the past 94 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Ardmore, AL for the past few years, and before that she has been a member of Carters Grove Baptist Church for almost 50 years.
Marie accepted the Lord as her savior during a revival at Mable Hill Baptist Church when she was 12 years old.
Marie was the daughter of Isom and Gertrude Phillips Hargrove and the sister of James Thomas Hargrove, and the wife of Charles “Buddy” Cavender for 28 years. All preceded her in death.
She is survived by five nieces and two nephews: Donna Hargrove Gilbert, Stephanie Brown-Gilbert, Jane Hargrove Vest, Heather Vest, Cierra Vest, James Thomas Hargrove, Jr., and Shelby Vest.
The family will have a private graveside service presided over by Chaplain DJ Allen. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Hospice of North Alabama.
