Helen Lorene Uptain, 91, Leighton, Ala., passed away Saturday, July 14, 2012, at Russellville Health Care.
She lived her entire life in Colbert County and was a member of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 17, 2012, at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, with Brother Carl Gaston officiating. The body will be placed in the church one hour before the service. Burial will be in Bethsaida Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. today at Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville.
Survivors include sons, Oneal (Barbara) Uptain, Muscle Shoals, Glenn (Joyce) Uptain, Russellville, Garry Uptain, Norcross, Ga.; son-in-law, Jimmy Clement, Leighton; special cousin, Christine McWilliams; flower garden friend, Opal Hall; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Baxter Clement, Christopher Uptain, Terry Thorn, Sammy Hall, Milton Hatton and Jimmy Patrick.
Honorary bearers will be John Whit Harrison, Bobby Bates, Barry Uptain, Shane Uptain, Eddie Woodard and Joey Woodard.
She was preceded in death by husband, Harvey Uptain; parents, James and Maud McCollum; daughter, Maudie Jane Clement; son, Jerry Uptain; brother, Ollie McCollum.
