Helen Frances Dorsey, age 92 of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Sunday, August 3, 2014 at NHC Healthcare (Brink Street) of Lawrenceburg. She was a native of Lawrence County and a member of First United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir for 50 years. Also, she was a member of the Order of Eastern Stars for over 50 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Alice Katherine Harwell Felker; her son, Jimmy Dorsey; her husband, James R. (Jim) Dorsey; two sisters, Bernice Felker and Eva Jean Whitmire; granddaughter, Kerri Ann Spearman Little; and one great-great-granddaughter.
She is survived by one daughter, Donna Kaye Spearman (Bert); two grandchildren, Andy Spearman (Mandy) and Debbie Scott (Barry); four great-grandchildren, Drew Scott, Annalee Scott, Wesley Spearman, and Jenni Kennedy; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, August 04, 2014 at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 05, 2014, with David Lay officiating. Interment will follow at Mimosa Cemetery in Lawrenceburg, TN. Instead of flowers, the family requests donation for Bibles be made to the local Gideons Camp, P.O. Box 371, Lawrenceburg, TN 38464.
