Mrs. Helen Elaine Shackelford, age 80, of Columbus, MS, passed away Sunday, October 5, 2025, at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.
Mrs. Shackelford was born March 14, 1945, in Millport, AL, to the late Clarence and Mary Idell (Gault) McGee. She was a secretary for McCarty Real Estate, and was married to the late Bobby Shackelford.
Funeral services will be Thursday, October 9, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Chandler Funeral Home, with Buddy Abernathy officiating. A graveside service will follow at Walnut Grove. Visitation will be 1:00-2:00 prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be Josh Garrett, Jacob Garrett, Jared Garrett, Pearce Shackelford, Ridge Shackelford, and Nick Geeslin.
Survivors include her two sons, Todd (Candi) Shackelford of Columbus, MS and Tim (Edie) Shackelford of Cleveland, TN; five grandchildren, Caitlin (Nick) Geeslin, Ridge Shackelford, Pearce Shackelford, Hannah (Dylan) Nugent, and Autumn Shackelford; four great-grandchildren, Livie, Piper, Lennon, and Millie Geeslin;two sisters, Imogene Williams and Diane Garrett; and a host of nieces and nephews.
