Helen Doubleday Keniston Oney, 54, died at Huntsville Hospital on July 6th, 2023 with her husband of 35 years, William E Oney III by her side. She was born in Plymouth, NH on December 13th, 1968, to Dale and Elaine Keniston, and grew up in Bristol, NH where she attended Newfound Regional High School and attended college at the University of Massachusetts at Lowell.
She was a gifted musician and music played a critical role in every facet of her life. Equally as important to her was her faith, which ran deep and true. She was a fierce believer of Baháʼu’lláh, following his words as closely as one can. Her family and friends were the bedrock of her life and service to others was always forward in her mind. Her absence will be keenly felt by all who knew her.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, William Oney IV, Ashburn, VA, Ian Oney, Huntsville, AL, L. Oney, Auburn, AL; mother, Elaine M. Keniston, Roanoke, VA; two brothers, Dr. Les P. Keniston, Charlottesville, VA and Mr. Max S. Keniston, Roanoke, VA; and many loving uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Dale F. Keniston, Roanoke VA.
Visitation will be Tuesday, July 11th from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at Berryhill Funeral Home, followed by service at 11:00. Burial will be in Huntsville Memory Gardens.
