Helen Clayton Burrows, of Sheffield, passed away on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at the age of 92. Her graveside service will be today, June 28, 2018 at 3 p.m. at Oakwood Cemetery in Sheffield. Reverend Bill Bedsole will officiate.
Helen was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Sheffield where she started the bereavement meal ministry. She enjoyed square dancing with her husband, board games and cards. Mrs. Burrows was also fond of traveling. Helen loved her church and her neighbors. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Burrows; parents, Orville and Eulah Clayton; son, Richard L. Burrows; daughter-in-law, Kerry M. Burrows; brothers, Eloyd Clayton and Orville Clayton; and sister, Marie Beasley.
Her survivors include her son, Randall Burrows (Kathy); grandchildren, Katie Burrows, Rebecca Burrows Cantrell (Blaine), Brian Burrows (Trisston) and Beth Clark (Trevor); nine great-grandchildren; sister, Jdean Jones; and sister-in-law, Eileen Powell.
The family extends sincere gratitude to Mrs. Burrow’s loving caregivers, Mildred Jones, Carol Mason, Donna Sparks, Glenda Miller and Gleria McVay, and to the staff of Kindred Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Children’s Department of the First United Methodist Church of Sheffield at 701 N. Montgomery Avenue, Sheffield, AL 35660.
