Funeral service for Helen “Betty” Mathews, age 96, of Decatur, will be Friday, January 15, 2016, 3:00 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Chris Shumake officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to service. Interment will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Mathews, who died Sunday, January 10, 2016, at Brooksdale, was born March 9, 1919, in Ambridge, PA, to George and Jean Hanstine Krohe. She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by three daughters, Terry Shumake (Jerry) of Decatur, Darlene Harris (Richard) of Butler, and Elaine Pierce of Huntsville; nine grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
