SHEFFIELD – The Civil Service Board hearing yesterday for suspended police chief Greg Ray has been continued until February 8. The City of Sheffield finished giving their testimony and Ray had started his side of the case when it was deemed that the hearing needed to be continued at a later date.
Ray was suspended in October 2012 by Sanford because of his alleged failures to perform his required duties. Ray refused to quit and instead asked for a Civil Service hearing on the matter.
The case was originally scheduled for December 13, however due to illness, it was rescheduled for the 31st of January and now continued until 1:00 pm on February 8.
