Head-On-Collision Takes Life Of One Person Sends Two Others To Hospital

CULLMAN-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a two-vehicle accident near Cullman that has taken the life of one person and sent two others to hospital:

“A two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 12:50 p.m. Thursday, January 25, has claimed the life of a Logan man.

Jerry M. Simmons, 72, was fatally injured when the 2008 Toyota Tacoma that he was driving collided head-on with a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Micah A. Godfrey, 27, of Arley.

Simmons was not using a seat belt at the time of crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Micah A. Godfrey and the passenger of the Chevrolet, Kelsey Godfrey, 24, also of Arley, were both injured and transported to Huntsville Hospital for treatment. Neither were using a seat belt at the time of crash.

The crash occurred on U.S. 278 near mile marker 67, approximately 10 miles west of Cullman city limits, in Cullman County.

Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
