Hazel Ruth Ward passed away Saturday, Oct. 22, 2016 at the age of 89. Mrs. Ward was a native of Decatur where she graduated Riverside High School in 1945. She married Loyd Ward in 1945 in Tucson, Arizona. Mrs. Ward was an avid bridge player. She loved to fish, to paint, garden and loved to cook. Mrs. Ward was an accomplished business owner and Artist. She was a member of Ninth Street United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Loyd Ward and great-grandson, Logan Ward.
She is survived by her daughter, Penny (Aaron) Wilson of Double Springs; grandson, Michael (Shannon) Ward of Decatur; granddaughter, Stacey Wilson of Haleyville and special cousins, Bobbie Bowman of Birmingham and Joe Ward of Hartselle.
A Celebration of Life will be Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jeff Sellers officiating. A time of visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Decatur City Cemetery. Roselawn Funeral Home has the honor of serving the family.
