Hazel Mattox Perry, age 96, of Lawrenceburg, TN, passed away Saturday, August 29th, 2026 at NHC Healthcare in Lawrenceburg. Hazel was born on October 23rd, 1929 to the late Collie R. Mattox and Angie Townsend Mattox in Lawrenceburg. She was a retired seamstress and manufacturing worker who worked in Lawrenceburg throughout the majority of her working career. In her spare time, she enjoyed fishing, gardening, cooking, and spending time with her loving family and friends. She was of Baptist Faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Perry; brothers, Noal Mattox, Austin Mattox, Collie Mattox, and Clay Mattox; sisters, Elaine Mattox, Vola Mattox Phillips, Christine Daniel, Lucille Franklin, Carlene White, and Cathleen Violet; son-in-law, Davis Knowis.
She is survived by her children, Joan Knowis, Janice Bailey (Larry), and Jerry Perry (Kathy); grandchildren, Misty Knowis Rhinehart, Keri Bailey McMahan, Perry Bailey, Jaymond Perry, Justin Perry, and Jennifer Perry Gaskill; 12 great grandchildren.
Per her request, A private graveside service will be held at Lawrence County Memorial Gardens on Wednesday, September 2nd, 2026 beginning at 10:00 a.m. Her grandson, Jaymond Perry will be officiating.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
