Mother Hazel Mae JollyHazel Mae Jolly was born to Thomas Jerry Jolly, Sr. and Laura May Jolly on December 1, 1947. She was the second child. The Lord called her to her eternal home Monday, April 1, 2024 in the comfort of her home.

Hazel attended Morgan Training School where she was able to learn various skills and important information about the world around her. She graduated and went right to work.

Hazel enjoyed being around her family. She would babysit her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews all the time. She loved to cook and would often prepare dishes for those who were sick and shut in. She enjoyed working in the food industry for Redstone Arsenal and the Vaun Braun Center in Huntsville, AL until she retired. She loved to travel and attend family reunions. Being around family and friends brought her great joy.

Hazel confessed hope in Christ and joined the Mount Zion Cumberland Presbyterian Church in America under the leadership of the late Reverend Aaron Toney. She grew strong in her Christian walk. Hazel went on to serve in various auxiliary positions such as the mother board, usher board, unity choir, kitchen committee, and Eastern Star. She served all these organizations well until her health would no longer allow.

Hazel was preceded in death by her mother, Laura May Jolly, brother, Thomas Jerry Jolly, Jr., two sisters, Laura Lightfoot-Smith and Lottie Jolly.

Hazel leaves to cherish her memories including her father Thomas Jerry Jolly, Sr.; two sons: Kenneth Fulenwider and Derrick Fulenwider both of Huntsville, AL; six sisters: Shirley (Freddie) Pruitt of Montgomery, AL, Velma Morrow of Decatur, GA, Marilyn Jolly of Winfield, AL, Mia Jolly of Huntsville, AL, Naressia Petty and Lindsa Jolly both of Decatur, AL; one brother, Marvin Jolly (Karla) of Michigan. Hazel loved and cherished her five grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

The funeral service for Mother Hazel Mae Jolly will be 1:00 p.m., Monday, April 15, 2024 at the Mount Zion Cumberland Presbyterian Church in America (3726 Pryor Road, Madison, AL 35756) with Pastor James Robinson officiating. Interment will be in the Oakland Cemetery. Mother Jolly will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time.

Public viewing will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Sunday, April 14, 2024 at the Royal Funeral Home.
