Hazel Jane Shoffner Aguirre, 66, of Dallas, TX (formerly of Iuka, MS), died Thursday, January 22, 2015, at the Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas. She was born in Memphis, TN on June 23, 1948. In October of 1952, the family moved to Iuka, MS. After graduating from Iuka High School, she attended Union University. She had a variety of jobs, but was best in marketing. As a Christian she attended First Baptist Church in Dallas where she was a member of the choir. She enjoyed her cats, Socks and Sneakers. Visitation is scheduled for 10 until 11 AM on Wednesday, January 28 at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 AM on Wednesday, January 28, 2015, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Bro. Ray Bennett. Interment will follow in Cypress Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her nephews, Devin Brown, Brandon Gray, Terry Kettler, Chris Shoffner, Tony Taylor, and Christopher Shoffner. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. Survivors include her husband, Edward Aguirre of Dallas, TX; 1 daughter – Angela Sodt Zech of Jackson, MI; 1 step son – Christopher Lancer Aguirre of Dallas, TX; her stepmother, Nola Dill Shoffner of Iuka; 2 brothers – Arthur Shoffner (Deanna) of Katy, TX and Louis Shoffner (Carolyn) of Michie, TN; 1 sister – Linda Shoffner Weaver of Corinth, MS; and 1 grandchild – Abagail Zech of Jackson, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Frank and Rubine Burns Shoffner; and her grandparents, Ned and Callie Carrington Shoffner and Rome and Cora Sample Burns.
