Hassie T. Harland, 96, of Cherokee, passed away Thursday, April 5th, 2018. Visitation Saturday, April 7th from noon to 2 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Cherokee. Funeral service 2 p.m. in the chapel with Brother Rod Stansky officiating. Burial will be in Harris Chapel Cemetery.
Hassie was a native of Colbert County and a retired homemaker. Hassie was a member of Margerum Community Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Wiley Pride “Buster” Harland; her parents, Silas and Minnie Tuberville; two brothers and two sisters.
Hassie is survived by her son, Timothy Harland (Jean); daughters, Joan Ross, Karon Hayes-Boyd (Jerry); grandsons, Todd Shook (Jana) and Scott Hayes (Joy); great-granddaughter, Jordan Hayes; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers are Todd Shook, Scott Hayes, Clay Waddell, Shelby Waddell, Dwight Rivers and Phil Oliver. Honorary pallbearers are Steve and David Hamilton.
The family expresses special thanks to the staff of Cottage of the Shoals.
