Harvie Samuel Markem, age 81, of Haleyville, Alabama passed away December 16, 2017. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
Visitation will be Monday, December 18, 2017 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home, Haleyville. Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Ritchie Emerson officiating. Burial will follow in Markem Family Cemetery.
Mr. Markem is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Markem; children, Mary Ann Scott, Trina Gower, Linda Michael, Trisha Bates and Annette Taylor; siblings, Shirley Valentine, Frances Mullins, James Markem, Thomas Markem and Joe Markem; grandchildren, Greg Gower, Adam Gower, Jessie Cavender, Courtney Taylor & Abby Taylor; and great grandchildren, Logan, Easton, Hunter, Abbie and Zach.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lewis Markem and Johnnie Jackson; brothers, Jessie Markem and Frankie Markem; and grandsons, Trent Markem and Sean Wooten.
