MADISON COUNTY-On March 7, 2024, Sheriff’s deputies received a call reporting a deceased male at 1790 Capshaw Road in the Harvest community. Upon arriving at the location, deputies found a deceased male individual inside the dwelling.
According to Sheriff’s detectives, after a thorough investigation, the deceased male subject has been identified as Derek Franklin Walls. He was 54 years old and a resident of Harvest.
Detectives have arrested and charged 36-year-old Kyle Hayden Lewter with his Murder. It appears that there was a physical altercation between both individuals who were known to each other, which ultimately resulted in the death of Mr. Walls.
Lewter was taken into custody and subsequently transported to the jail facility, where he was ordered to be held without the possibility of posting a bond. This decision was made in accordance with Aniah’s Law.
