Harry Howard Walker Sr, age 87 of Winchester, passed away on Monday, January 8, 2024, at St. Thomas-Midtown in Nashville. The youngest of ten children, he was born in Columbia, on June 20, 1936, to the late Robert and Mattie Louise (Nance) Walker. He attended Columbia Central High School and played for the 1952 football state championship team. After high school Harry served his country in the United States Navy until 1963 achieving Electricians Mate First Class. He was subsequently employed as an electrician at AEDC for 35 years until his retirement. Harry had a passion for photography covering everything from sporting events to weddings, often moon lighting for the Hearld Chronicle. After retirement, he enjoyed spending his time making things in his woodworking shop and target shooting. He was a lifelong sports fan, Harry cheered for the Tennessee Titans and University of Tennessee Volunteers. But most of all, he cherished the time spent with his beloved family. His kindness and generosity were evident to all who were around him. Harry attended the Winchester First United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Walker; and siblings, Paul Walker, Bertha Walker Adkisson, Mildred Waggoner, JP Walker, William Walker, Evelyn Walker Church, Elizabeth Walker Clark, Helen Walker Overstreet, and Bobbie Jean Walker. Harry is survived by his loving children, Harry Howard (Kelly) Walker Jr, Jeffery Paul (Kim) Walker, and Leoma Nance (Bill) Peter; and grandchildren, Lance (Jess) Walker, Tyler (Aimee) Walker, Brandon (Jennifer) Walker, Clason Peter, Garrett Peter, and Sarah McCoy; and twelve great grandchildren; and special friend and caregiver, Teresa Baker and her family. Visitation will be from 12-2pm on Friday, January 12, 2024, at Watson Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 pm at Watson Memorial Park with military honors bestowed.
