Harry “Billy” Ray May, age 83 of Belvidere, passed away on August 18, 2024, at Ascension St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville. He was born in Franklin County on September 17, 1940, to the late Russell May and Inez Davis May. Billy worked at Arnold Air Force Base as an electrical draftsman in design. He loved carving wood, hunting, fishing, and going and doing activities with his church at Owl Hollow Church of Christ, where he served as an elder. In addition to his parents, Billy is preceded in death by brother, Kenneth May. He is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Jean May of Belvidere; daughter, Lori (Butch) Jack of Belvidere; son, Wade (Tracy) May of Yorktown, Virginia; sister, Joyce Hayes of Huntland; and three grandchildren, David Jack, Leighann Chandler, and Russ May. A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2024, from 1pm-3pm at Moore-Cortner Funeral. Funeral Service will follow at 3pm, August 22, 2024, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Brother Walter Rayburn officiating. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Franklin County Christian Scholarship Fund or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
